Wheelchair Donation Community Service

Wheelchair Donation

19. Wheelchair Donation – 16th October 2025 at Nezone Apartment Tezpur Assam Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur donated a wheelchair to Miss Jina Bhakta, daughter of Late Shambu Bhakta, residing at Botabari (Balipara). The wheelchair was sponsored by our member Rtn. Sunil Jasrasaria. Miss Jina Bhakta has been suffering from paralysis since birth. The donation program was graced by Shri Rishabh Sipani, District President, Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha, Sonitpur, as the guest of honour. Members present on the occasion were: President Rtn. Hemanand Khosla, Secretary Rtn. Shyam Sundar Sharma, Rtn. Nilesh Agarwal, Rtn. Jayant Tibrewala, and Rtn. Sunil Jasrasaria. Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur remains dedicated to serving the community and supporting those in need through its continuous humanitarian efforts.

Cataract Screening & Surgeries

Organised in association with Mission Hospital & Tezpur Eye Hospital Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur A Cataract Screening Camp was conducted recently with the support of Mission Hospital Team under Dr. Jerien and Tezpur Eye Hospital, to identify and treat patients requiring cataract surgeries. Key Highlights: • A total of 29 patients were selected for surgery after screening. • 11 patients were examined at the Tezpur Eye Hospital. • 2 were given spectacles on the spot, while 9 underwent further tests to confirm surgical requirements. First Batch of Surgeries on 18th September 2025: • 7 successful cataract surgeries were performed at Tezpur Eye Hospital • 2 more patients were given spectacles. • 1 patient had to be rejected due to high blood pressure.

Blood Donation Camp Community Service

Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized by Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur, and other esteemed organizations. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from donors and well-wishers, reflecting a true spirit of service and unity. We are proud to share that a total of 80 units of blood were collected during the camp. This noble contribution will go a long way in saving lives and supporting patients in need of blood transfusions. We extend our sincere gratitude to Terapanth Yuvak Parishad for their leadership in organizing this initiative and to all the organizations, volunteers, and donors who came forward to make this event a grand success. The Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur is honored to have been part of this impactful initiative and looks forward to many such collaborative projects in the future.

Inauguration of Smart Class Project

The Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur, RI District 3240, inaugurated a Smart Class Project on 9th September 2025 at Gandhi Memorial ME School, Polofield Road, Tezpur. The project has been supported by The Rotary Foundation District Grant (No. DG 2576883, 2024–25).The program commenced at 11:00 AM with Rtn. Ankit Khetawat conducting the proceedings as the Master of Ceremony (MOC). A warm welcome address was delivered by President Rtn. Hemanand Khosla, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, school authorities, and Rotarians for their presence.The project details were shared by IPP Rtn. Jayant Tibriwal, who highlighted the objectives, planning, and implementation of the Smart Class initiative, emphasizing how it would transform the learning environment for students. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Manoj Hazarika, Principal of Tezpur College, who attended as the Chief Guest.

The award was conferred upon teachers from: • Gurunanak High School • St. Joseph Convent High School • Rastriya Bhasha School The program highlighted the invaluable role of teachers in shaping young minds and building a literate, progressive society. Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan Awareness Program Community Service

Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan Awareness Program

Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur in association with Brahmakumaris organized an awareness program on “Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan” to spread the message of a drug-free society. Around 70 villagers actively participated in the program. The session was led by Kamala Behen from Brahmakumari, who inspired the gathering with her motivational address. She emphasized the harmful effects of substance abuse on health, family, and society, and encouraged everyone to take a strong stand against addiction.The program created a positive impact among the villagers, as they interacted and pledged their support towards building a healthier community. At the conclusion, all participants collectively took an oath to free their lives and society from Nasha (substance abuse).This initiative reflected Rotary’s continuous efforts towards social awareness, health, and community well-being, leaving behind a strong message of hope and determination for a drug-free future.

Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur, in association with Brahmakumari and Ekal Mahila Samiti, Tezpur Anchal, celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm by honouring 24 teachers of Ekal Vidyalayas from 12 Sanch under Tezpur Anchal. Out of the 360 dedicated teachers serving 360 Ekal schools in the region, two teachers from each Sanch were selected for felicitation.felicitated all the teachers with Appreciation Certificates and gift hampers (Dinner Set) as a token of gratitude for their selfless service in the field of education.

Today, the Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur felicitated the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Sri Anand Kumar Das, ACS, at his office with the 4-Way Test Promotion. The delegation was led by President Rtn. Hemanand Khosla, accompanied by Secretary Rtn. Shyam Sharma, Treasurer Rtn. Kavinder Jain, Rtn. Nilesh Agarwal, Rtn. Sunil Patni, and Rtn. Sharad Sethia. During the meeting, the club proposed offering him Honorary Membership of the Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur and also extended an invitation to visit the Baptist Christian Hospital to see the Palliative Care Unit.

The Inauguration Ceremony of Project Aahaar Chhaya (Construction of Shade for Mid-Day Meals at Rashtrabhasha Hindi Vidyalaya, Tezpur) was held on 13th August 2025 under the Rotary District 3240 Foundation Grant, Rotary Year 2024–25. The program commenced at 10:30 AM with the presence of distinguished guests and members. The Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur successfully conducted a Free Cervical Cancer Vaccination Camp on 7th August 2025 at Baptist Christian Hospital, Tezpur, The camp aimed to raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention and provide free HPV vaccinations to young girls in the region. Car Rally India Drive Empowering an HPV-Free India

The Rotary Club of Greater Tezpur successfully organized a car rally on 7th August 2025 as part of the nationwide initiative “India Drive: Empowering an HPV-Free India.” The rally was flagged off from Green Wood Resort and concluded at Baptist Christian Hospital, covering a distance of approximately 2 kilometers. A total of 14 cars participated in the rally, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere while spreading awareness about HPV prevention and cervical cancer vaccination. The initiative was driven by Rtn. Priya Rajpal from Rotary Club of Bombay Pier (District 3141), whose vision and dedication played a pivotal role in bringing this impactful project to life.
